G 9801 'Blue Square'

Redwood body with Maple neck w/Rosewood fingerboard.  Bridge humbucker/neck singlecoil pickup configuration.

G 9802 'BU'

I found some old wooden sign letters which yielded the jumping-off point for the design of a few bodies.  The guitar has a Mahogany back and a custom-order flame Koa Warmoth neck with Ebony fingerboard (I occasionally used Warmoth necks on some of the first guitars I built).

X 9803 'Double EE'

This body remains raw & will not be turned into a guitar.

G 9804 'White aRm'

Redwood body, flame Maple neck (final version).  In the beginning I sometimes used prefabricated necks.  The bottom 3 images show the guitar with the final neck which I made.  Seymour Duncan Alnico II Tele/Strat singlecoil combination, through-the-body bridge.  Sperzel locking tuners.

G 9805 'Reverse T'

'Reverse T' also makes use of one of the sign letters I found.  The guitar has a Redwood body with an Indian Rosewood neck.  Fralin P-90 pickups with custom made celluloid covers.  The green switch tip is made of catalin, an early form of plastic which was used in art-deco period radios.

G 9806 '&'

Now in the capable hands of Japanese Blues guitarist Shoka Okubo

G 9807 'MS'

G 9808 'For Rent'

Fralin Strat set,  Bird's eye Maple neck.  Gotoh steel block tremolo. The body is Mahogany.  I found the old 'for rent' sign in the basement of my brother's house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.  Judging by the phone number it dates from the 30's or 40's.  In order to keep it legible I matched the pickup covers to complete the letters of the sign.

G9809 'Bedrooms'

Redwood body w/ Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard.  Two Lollar minihumbuckers, Hipshot bridge and Sperzel locking tuners.  I added the recessed f-hole during the final adaptation of the body.

G 9810 'Never 2 High'

Poplar back w/ Purpleheart stripe.  Maple neck - this guitar also received a new neck.  I replaced the prefabricated Maple neck with one of my own.  Rio Grande 'Tallboy' pickup combination, volume control, 3-way switch.

G 9811 'Magnets'

Figured Birch back, Maple neck w/ Ebony fingerboard.  Two high-output humbuckers, 3-way switch, 2 volume controls.

G 9812 'Lady in the Jungle'

G 9813 'Japanese Gold'

Mahogany body with Mahogany neck.  Rosewood fingerboard and headstock overlay.  Aged Kluson-style Gotoh tuners.  2 P-90's with tortoiseshell celluloid custom covers.

G 9814 'Gears'

This body always attracted a lot of attention.  For a long time I hesitated to turn it into a guitar, since it was very heavy, due to all the metal parts included in the decoration.  In the end my Italian distributor Daniele Cabibbe prevailed and I fitted a Mahogany neck w/Rosewood fingerboard and two Lollar Imperial humbuckers.  The tailpiece is custom made to fit the design - I also relieved the Mahogany body as much as possible to reduce the weight.  It's a spectacular instrument, even though it's still pretty heavy...

X 9815 'Red B Blue'

One of the letters I found in my brother's basement.  The back had a nice red color.  This one remains as 'body only' in a private collection.

G 9816 'Love Twins'

G 9817 'Gun & Roses'

Poplar body.  Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard.  Two vintage Gibson minihumbuckers.  A rusty old toy gun I found buried in the yard combines with some dried roses.  The sculpted body reveals some see-though sections.

G 9818 'Picasso Bull'

Poplar back, Maple neck w/ Ebony fingerboard.  Vintage Gibson humbucker in the bridge, Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro singlecoil in the neck position.  3-way switch, volume control.

G 9819 'Guitarguitar'

The first longscale guitar I made, with a 27" scale.  The neck is Purpleheart w/Wenge stringers.

G 9820 'Leger d'main'

Birch body with Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard.  I came across an old Kahler tremolo which cleaned up nicely.  Bridge humbucker and neck singlecoil pickup combination.

X 9821 'N'

Body in private collection.

G 9822 'Golden 50'

Redwood body, Maple neck.  3 Kinman pickups, vintage style tremolo.  A tone control was added later on. This was my first extensive use of gold leafing as surface treatment.

G 9823 'Blue Snake'

Douglas Fir back, Maple neck stained blue, through-body-bridge, 3 Seymour Duncen Alnico II singlecoils, 5-way switch, volume control.

G 9824 'Rent Ready'

G9825 'California II'

Redwood back, Madagascar Rosewood neck, Sperzel locking tuners, through-body-bridge, splittable Bill Lawrence humbucker, push-pull volume control.

G 9826 'Blue Gears'

G 9827 'Snake'

Redwood back, Flame Maple/Ebony neck.  3+3 Grover tuners, through-body-bridge.  Neck single coil/splittable humbucker bridge combination.  Volume, 3-way switch, coil-split mini switch.
